REGISTRATION UNDERWAY FOR SOUTHEASTERN COMMUNITY MUSIC SCHOOL FALL
SESSION
HAMMOND – Registration
is now underway for the fall session of Southeastern Louisiana University’s
Community Music School, which begins August 29 on the Hammond campus and
at Southeastern St. Tammany Center.
CMS offers private instruction
on all instruments and in voice for students of all ages and levels of
experience, said Director Kenneth Boulton. Tuition includes group theory
classes, various ensemble opportunities, masterclass coaching sessions
with Southeastern music professors, and a variety of performance programs.
“Of special note this year
is a new Southeastern Community Music School ‘select’ vocal ensemble,”
Boulton said. The ensemble will be directed by Southeastern alumnus Amy
Prats, choral director at Ponchatoula High School.
Boulton said CMS classes
at the St. Tammany Center, located on the third floor of the St. Tammany
Administrative Complex, 21454 Koop Drive north of Mandeville, have expanded
to include music instruction on flute, guitar, piano and voice.
“This supplements an already
burgeoning string program there,” he added.
The CMS fall registration
packet can be downloaded from the CMS website, www.selu.edu/cms,
or obtained from the CMS office, Music Annex, room 253, 985-549-5502. |
