COLORING CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED
     HAMMOND   On Monday, November 12, Tangipahoa Parish children, friends and
families gathered in Hammond Square Mall for the announcement of the Southeastern Louisiana
University Homecoming 2001 coloring contest winners.  Children from area schools submitted
2,317 entries centered around the homecoming theme of "Southeastern Network," inspired by the
popular cable station, Cartoon Network.
     Contest winners are:
     Ages 3-4: Samuel Abene, Holy Ghost Catholic School, first place; Shelby Duhe,
Methodist Nursery School, second place; Nicholas Sittco, Holy Ghost Catholic School, third
place; Tyler LeBlanc, Holy Ghost Catholic School, honorable mention.
     Ages 5-6: Amy Jo Henderson, St. Joseph Catholic School, first place; Danielle
Rodriguez, Tucker Memorial Primary, second place; Brooke Barringer, Holy Ghost Catholic
School, third place; Kelsey Bordelon, Holy Ghost Catholic School, honorable mention.
     Ages 7-9: Megan Talbo, St. Joseph Catholic School, first place: Kayla Hoover, D.C.
Reeves Memorial Elementary, second place; Terrell Vaughn, Hammond Westside, third place;
Bryanne Millet, Champ Cooper School, honorable mention.
     Entries for the contest were distributed to local elementary schools and printed in the
Daily Star in celebration of Southeastern's Homecoming week November 12-19.  Ribbons and
prizes were supplied by Hammond area merchants. 
     Winners will ride in the Homecoming parade, scheduled for 4 p.m., Friday, November
16. Lining up at Zemurray Park, the parade will roll down Railroad Ave. and North Oak Street,
turning west on University Ave. and ending at the University Center.
