     FREE CONTRACTORS SEMINAR HELD ON SLU CAMPUS                     
                         
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University s Small Business Development
Center will sponsor, along with the Louisiana Department of Economic Development, a series of
free seminars from the Louisiana Contractors Accreditation Institute for construction contractors.
     The Louisiana Contractors Accreditation Institute has organized classes to train and
update contractors in the following areas: bonding, estimating, reading blue prints, planning and
organization, financial management, equipment management, contract management, risk
management, the bid process, scheduling, safety, general contractors state licensing preparation,
communications, conflict resolution and contractors exam review.
     Upon graduation from the above courses, qualified businesses are eligible for grant
assistance and/or surety bond guarantee assistance.
     The series of seminars will be held on Southeastern s campus in the Charles E. Cate
Teacher Education Center, Room 250.  The classes will meet every Monday and Wednesday
from 6:30-8:30 p.m. (four classes end at 9:30 p.m.).  Classes start Feb. 2 and continue through
April 1, excluding Mardi Gras week, Feb. 23-25.  A complimentary light supper will be served
each night at 6 p.m.
