COUDRAIN TAKES OATH FOR HIGHER EDUCATION BOARD SEPT. 18
     HAMMOND -- Local lawyer Andre Coudrain will be sworn in Sept. 18 as the newest
member of the University of Louisiana System Board of Trustees during a special community
ceremony at the SLU Alumni Center.
     Coudrain, who graduated from Southeastern in 1979, will become the first Board of
Trustees member to have served as a student representative and full board member. In his senior
year at Southeastern, Coudrain was president of the Student Government Association and student
representative to the board.
     In his new post, Coudrain will be a member of  the finance, grievance and academic
affairs committees. 
     The Board of Trustees is the management board for the state's regional universities and
colleges, including Southeastern, Nicholls, Grambling, McNeese, Louisiana Tech, Northeast
Louisiana University, Northwestern State University, University of Southwestern Louisiana,
Delgado and Nunez Community College.
     The swearing-in ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. in the Southeastern Alumni Center on
University Avenue, formerly known as Columbus Drive. The public is invited.
