DEC. 1 DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR SLU ADMISSION WITHOUT LATE FEE
     HAMMOND -- Prospective students have until Dec. 1 to apply for Southeastern
Louisiana University's spring 2001 semester without paying a $50 late fee.
     Students can apply for admission online (www.selu.edu), by mail (SLU 10752,
Hammond, LA 70402) or in person (Enrollment Services Office, North Campus Building B.) 
     After Dec. 1, a $50 late fee will be added to the $20 application fee. To apply, students
must send Southeastern an application form and fee and a proof of immunization form that can
also be printed from the university's web site. The university should also have the student's ACT
scores and high school transcripts or GED scores/diploma on file.
     Qualified high school seniors will be invited to attend the university's annual Scholarship
Day in February to compete for 2001-02 academic year scholarships. To qualify, seniors must
have an ACT composite score of 24 or above, a grade point average or 3.0 or higher and have
demonstrated leadership abilities. A Scholarship Day application form, which must be returned
by Dec. 15, is available online at www.selu.edu/enroll/faid/SSD_Appl.htm. 
     Other important upcoming dates for students include Jan. 5, fee payment deadline for
spring 2001 early registrants, and Jan. 16, first day of spring 2001 semester classes. 
     Students who have questions about Southeastern admissions can contact Enrollment
Services (504-549-2062, 1-800-222-SELU; SLU 10752, Hammond, LA 70402; North Campus
Building B) for information and a brochure on "Frequently Asked Questions about
Southeastern's Quality Admission Standards." The brochure is available online under the
