Sandra Ebel
Business
It's never too late to get a college education, as
37-year-old Sandra Ebel can attest. This year's
College of Business Dean's Award recipient attributes her academic success to a never-ending
passion for learning.
"Learning has always been an important part of my life," Ebel explained. "If I do
something, I'm going to give it all I've got."
She chose the College of Business not just because of its quality, but because she adored
the small classes offered at Southeastern and the personal contact with educators appealed to her
love of learning. One professor who Ebel said particularly made a positive impact in her college
career is Bobbye Davis, head of the department of office administration/business education. Like
most Southeastern faculty members, Davis is always willing do everything she can to help
students. "She cares about students, and more than just their class work. She is a mentor and also
a friend," Ebel said.
Ebel, a Covington resident, is currently employed as a staffing coordinator for Brooke
Staffing in Metairie. Her Southeastern education is an asset in the workplace. "The skills I
learned
in office administration classes prepared me and were geared toward this industry," Ebel
explained. "I first chose Southeastern for its convenient location and I liked the small classes, but
the education I received was wonderful and it really has enhanced my job skills."
