SLU TO EXTEND HOURS IN KEY OFFICES EACH MONTH
HAMMOND -- Beginning in March, some key offices at Southeastern Louisiana
University will stay open late one night a month.
The university plans to keep the Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, and Controller's
offices open until 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month, said Provost Randy Moffett. The
new extended schedule begins March 4.
The SLU Bookstore, operated by Follett College Stores, will also observe the first
Tuesday schedule in addition to the extended hours the store implemented in January, said
Manager Deb Schilleci. The bookstore regularly is open from 7:30 to 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday
and 7:30-4:30 on Friday.
"We hope this will be one way of serving all our students, particularly our non-
traditional, evening and part-time students," said Provost Randy Moffett.
Vice President for Student Affairs Patsy Causey said the university will try the new
schedule for six months. "Each office will maintain a log of services and type of activities
requested, so we can analyze productivity," she said. "I think this is going to be a really good
service for students."
