| SOUTHEASTERN STUDENTS CAN PAY FALL FEES BEGINNING JULY
24
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana
University students should soon receive bills for their fall 2002 semester
tuition and fees and can make payments in person or online beginning Wednesday,
July 24.
Students can pay fall 2002 fees via
the Internet with WebPay or in person at the Controller's Office in Dyson
Hall through August 13 or at the University Center August 14-29, said Controller
Diane Singletary.
Students who registered early for the
fall 2002 semester, which begins August 26, can make schedule changes August
13-16. Their fall 2002 semester fees must be paid by 4:30 p.m., Friday,
August 16, or their classes will be canceled. Those who meet the fee deadline,
however, may participate in a special drop/add period on Monday, August
19. Any additional fees incurred during the drop/add period must be paid
by 6 p.m., Thursday, August 22.
Students whose classes were canceled
and new students will sign up for fall classes during regular registration
-- August 20-22 -- and must pay fees by 6 p.m., August 22.
Fall 2002 late registration is scheduled
August 26-28. Classes will be canceled for all students with unpaid balances
after 4:30 p.m., August 29.
“Students are encouraged to mail their
payments as soon as possible when fee bills are sent out,” Singletary said.
“Mail early! Postmark is not considered.”
Singletary said the first loan balance
checks for fall 2002 will be mailed on Friday, August 23. Students who
are expecting loan checks will have their anticipated loan amounts posted
to their account, if all necessary paperwork has been processed.
Students whose lenders send paper checks
must come to the cashier's section of the Controller’s office to endorse
those checks beginning Tuesday, August 27. All subsequent refunds from
sources such as PELL, scholarships, or dropped courses will be mailed Tuesday,
September 10. Singletary said students will not be allowed to pick up refund
checks.
“Mailing the checks helps us process
refunds more efficiently and eliminates long lines for pick ups. All students
will be better served in this manner,” Singletary said.
Since checks will be mailed, Singletary
said students should be sure that their current mailing address is correct
in the university’s online system. She said address corrections can be
made online at www.selu.edu/enroll/addr_upd.htm.
University administrators are also reminding
seniors that September 16 is the final deadline to apply for fall 2002
graduation. Students who do not apply by that date will not receive their
degrees or be allowed to participate in commencement exercises in December
2002. Students can apply for graduation online at www.selu.edu/enroll/gradap.html.
