STUDY TOUR OF FRANCE 2000 TO OFFER NEW COURSES
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University students who enroll in Marketing 457
or 695 this summer will study the political, cultural and economic factors that impact business
affairs in France.  And what better place to study it than in France!
     Southeastern's Study Tour of France 2000 will offer students an opportunity to study
abroad July 3-August 7, 2000. In addition to intermediate and advanced French courses,
Southeastern will also offer current issues in marketing, special topics in marketing and English
literature course, The Continental Novel. 
     The Study Tour will spend two weeks in Paris and three weeks in Provence. In addition to
classes, which will be held between 8 a.m. and noon, students will participate in excursions in the
afternoons and weekends. 
     The marketing courses lectures will be supplemented with visits to leading multinational
and local corporations and agencies where students will have the opportunity to interact with
business and government leaders.  The English literature class will focus on European writers and
will include on-site visits to the homes of such famous French writers as Victor Hugo and
Chateaubriand. 
      The $4,000 program includes airfare, tuition, lodging, two meals per day, museum
entrances, all planned travel and excursions. Scholarships are available and students are
encouraged to join the student organization, Academics to France, which will hold fundraisers to
help finance the trip.  
     Southeastern professors who will accompany the group include Meg Marshall, Foreign
Languages and Literatures department head Brad O'Hara MBA program director and University
of West Florida, English and French professor Pierre Kaufke.
