GRAD FAIR SMOOTHS PATH TO GRADUATION FOR SLU SENIORS
HAMMOND -- Grad Fair, a program
designed to take the hassle out of preparing for graduation for Southeastern
Louisiana University seniors, is scheduled for October 9-10 in the War
Memorial Student Union Ballroom..
Leadership Development/Student
Activities Director Jackie Dale Thomas, who started the program in 1995,
said Grad Fair, “gives graduating seniors a ‘one-stop shopping’ opportunity
to complete the requirements to walk at commencement and to graduate officially
from the university.”
Grad Fair hours are noon to 5
p.m., Thursday, October 9, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, October 10.
Students who expect to receive
their diplomas in December can order order caps, gowns, invitations, class
rings and Southeastern memorabilia, and register for special give-aways.
They also can have a graduation photo taken; obtain graduation, career
placement, graduate school and alumni information; complete financial aid
and student exit surveys, and visit a variety of booths offering services
to prepare them for both commencement and the job market, Thomas said.
Grad Fair is co-sponsored by
Leadership Development/Student Activities and Gamma Beta Phi honor and
service society. For additional information, call Leadership Development/
Student Activities at 985-549-2233. |
