KSLU BROADCASTING HAMMOND CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's public radio station, KSLU (90.9FM) is
now airing live broadcasts of Hammond City Council meetings.
     The council meets every first and third Tuesday at 6 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for
July 22.. KSLU also will broadcast the Tangipahoa Parish Council meetings every second and
fourth
Monday at 6:30 p.m., said News Director Shanna Sissom.
     "We are very excited about broadcasting the City Council meetings," said Sissom. "The
broadcasts are not perform a community service of making the meetings easily accessible to
everyone,
but they can also serve as valuable education tools for students studying local government."
