SLU LIBRARY PLANS SESSIONS ON GENEALOGY, JOBS, INTERNET
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's Sims Memorial Library is planning
a series of workshops this spring on genealogy, job hunting, and Internet search engines.
The sessions are scheduled for April and May in the library's Room 355. To pre-register,
which is required, call 504-549-5055/56.
The genealogy workshop, scheduled for 10:30-11 a.m. April 24, is designed for
beginners. Area residents interested in researching their family history will learn about the
resources in Sims Memorial and other area libraries and on the Internet.
On May 1, the library staff will detail how the library's resources and the Internet can be
used to find a job. The session is scheduled for noon-1 p.m.
The May 22 advanced Internet workshop will focus on search engines. Instruction will be
hands-on.
