LIONETTES SPONSOR DANCE CAMP AUG. 6-9
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's dance team, the Lionettes, will
sponsor its annual summer camp for young dancers Aug. 6-9. 
     Scheduled for 8 a.m.-noon, the camp is open to young dancers ages four and older.
Elementary, junior high and high school dance teams are welcome.
     The camp will take place in the Kinesiology and Health Studies Building and participants
will present a performance for family and friends at noon Aug. 9 at Vonnie Borden Theatre in D
Vickers Hall.
     Dancers will learn two routines while receiving individual instruction on stretching,
dance technique and showmanship.
     The cost of the camp is $45 and includes a camp t-shirt and juice. Participants should
bring a snack.
     Although dancers can register on Aug. 6, pre-registration is encouraged. School teams
must pre-register. Lionettes will choreograph routines for teams registering before July 21.
     Proceeds from the camp will go toward funding the Lionettes' attendance to the national
dance association competition in Florida. The Lionettes and Lionette Alumni also host a dance
camp each year during Southeastern's Rock 'n Roar Fest in March.
