GNB TECHNOLOGIES CEO TO GIVE LIVINGSTON LECTURE MARCH 23
HAMMOND -- Thomas Minner, president & chief executive officer of GNB
Technologies will present Southeastern Louisiana University's annual James Livingston
Memorial Lecture on Business Ethics. 7 p.m., Tuesday March 23, in the Teacher Education
Center KIVA.
Minner will speak on "Ethics in Industry: Lead Acid Batteries." The lecture is free and
the public is invited to attend.
GNB Technologies markets its products in over 50 countries worldwide and is a leader in
recycling spent lead-acid batteries. GNB Technologies is best known to consumers as the maker
of Champion automotive products. The company has operations in the U.S., Australia and New
Zealand and technical partnerships in Germany, Brazil, South Korea and U.K.
Minner has been with GNB Technologies since 1980, serving in various capacities
including national account sales, product manager, account executive, vice-president of
marketing, and vice president and general manager of the automotive division.
Minner earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA
from Northwestern University. He has served on the boards of the Lead Industries Association,
the Battery Council International, the Students in Free Enterprise, the Wal-Mart Environmental
Advisory Board and the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Advisory board.
A strong supporter and highly involved with the Students In Free Enterprise organization,
Minner received the Champion award from the group for his support.
The Livingston lecture series, founded by Hammond businessman John O. Batson in
memory of his long-time friend and associate James Livingston, is co-sponsored by Batson,
SLU's College of Business and Students in Free Enterprise.
