SOUTHEASTERN  NAMES NEW ALUMNI DIRECTOR
     HAMMOND -- Kathy Locascio Pittman of Hammond has been named director of the
Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association.
     Pittman, a senior vice president at First Guaranty Bank of Hammond since 1994 and a
1971 Southeastern graduate, was chosen from a long list of applicants and a national search. She
will replace Charlotte Bennett who recently resigned after 7 years as director.
     In making the announcement, Randy Moffett, vice president for planning, research and
development said the university is "extremely pleased to have someone of her abilities and
thorough knowledge of public relations."
     "With her background in banking and industry," he continued, "Kathy will be a real asset.
Since she is a Southeastern student, she also is very knowledgeable of the university."
     Pittman has been active in Hammond business and community organizations for many
years. She has been a member of the First Guaranty Bank staff since 1979. In 1983 she served as
president of the Hammond Chamber of Commerce. She also was a chamber board member from
1980 to 1980 and 1985 to 1988. Her list of communty activities includes the Balloon Festival,
Member 2000 Committee, Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, United Way, Hammond High
School Evaluation Team, Crimestoppers of Tangipahoa Parish, SLU Alumni Association,
Westpak Hospital Advisory Board, National Association of Bank Women, St. Thomas Aquinas
Paents Association and Holy Ghost Church Finance Committee.
     In 1983 Pittman was named Jaycees Who's Who Among Young Business Persons. The
following year the Kiwanis Club named her Outstanding Person of the Year. In 1987 she
received the Women's Health Foundation Outstanding Business Woman award followed in 1991
by the St. Thomas Aquinas High School's Mother Seton Award.
     "I am really excited," Pittman said, "about the opportunity that lies ahead and being able
to tell others about the great things that are taking place at Southeastern. There is an enthusiasm
at Southeastern that is contagious and I am honored to serve as part of that team."
