SOUTHEASTERN DANCEWORKS PRESENTS
“POSTCARDS WITH A VIEW”
HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana
University’s department of music and dramatic arts’ Izzy Dance will present
“Postcards With a View” as their contribution to Fanfare 2004, the university’s
October arts festival, on Oct. 20 at Vonnie Borden Theatre.
Directed and partly choreographed by
Southeastern dance instructor Dana Brewer-Plazinic, “Postcards With a View”
uses the medium of dance to presents vignettes about human relations, conflicts,
dreams, memories, joyful times and forgotten places. The 7:30 p.m. concert
will feature the choreography of Southeastern faculty and students, live
music by Southeastern musicians and singers, and a special contribution
by guest artist-in-residence Skip Costa and the Lyric Dance Ensemble of
New Orleans.
Costa, a Hammond resident now based
in New York City, is a member of New York’s Coremovement Project and New
York Los Angeles Dance Conventions and Competitions. Rounding out the cast
of choreographers are Jennifer Buck of New Orleans and Jarrod Cashe and
Greta Sharp of Hammond.
Dancers for the evening’s performance
include Cashe, Sharp, Jerica Robinson, Thurman Fields, Wendi Reimann, Vanessa
Seaux and Bridget Lyons of Hammond; Brittni Barlow and Jodie Sandefur of
Albany; Micah Richerand of Folsom; Shaylyn Ducoing of Lafitte; Misty Nebeker
of Mandeville; Heather Brooks of Pearl River; Brewer-Plazinic, Lyric Cox,
Megan Camardelle, and Samantha Babylon of Covington; Jada Foret of Lockport;
Stacie Sabath and Shaylyn Ducoing of Chalmette; Leslie Comeaux of Violet;
Lauren Landry, Kayla Griffin and Daphne Lamendola of Baton Rouge; Jessica
Lee of Kentwood; Amanda Perkins of Slidell; April Bardwell, Heidi Easley
and Ashley Jones of Ponchatoula; Sharon Condon of New Orleans; Merrie C.
Kidd of Poplarville
Musicians are Lenny Mastascuso of Violet,
Colin Hebert of Westwego, Sara Harris of Hammond and David Bryan of New
Orleans. Singers are Marsha Scott and Jessica Davis of Ponchatoula, Janelle
Bourgeois of Hammond, Kevin Messer of Baton Rouge, and members of Phi Mu
Alpha and Delta Omicron Fraternity.
Tickets are $4 general admission; $2
seniors, Southeastern faculty, staff, alumni and non-Southeastern students;
and free for Southeastern students with ID.

are noon to 5 p.m., weekdays. Tickets will also be available at the Vonnie
Borden box office in D Vickers Hall the night of the show beginning at
6:30 p.m.
