GIFT OF FRIENDSHIP-- Southeastern Louisiana University President Sally Clausen, right,
presents the Southeastern's "Friendship Oak" award, Southeastern's highest symbol of
friendship, to Rene Preval, President of Haiti, after his speech at Southeastern Sept. 1. Preval told
a Southeastern audience that developing democracy and education are his priorities and the key
to improving Haiti's economy. Preval also was the guest at a luncheon and met with
Southeastern administrators and student leaders.
