WORKPLACE REGULATIONS SEMINAR AT SLU
HAMMOND -- Workplace regulations will be the focus of the Oct. 16 human resource
seminar sponsored by the Southeastern Louisiana University Small Business Development
Center. The seminar is geared toward small businesses and how they can be affected by the
Americans with Disabilities Act, sexual harassment, equal employment opportunity regulations,
Department of Labor and wage & hour regulations, and health & safety regulations.
The seminar will be held from 8a.m.-noon in Room 139 of the SLU University Center.
The cost to attend is $30; $25 for each person from the same company. Pre-registration is
required and seating is limited. Extensive handouts and refreshment are included.
The seminar will be presented jointly by Glen Villalobos and Michael Tusa Jr.
Villlalobos is a Certified Senior Professional in Human Recourse Management, the highest level
human resource designation available. Tusa is an attorney whose practice centers on
employment litigation. He has extensive experience in counseling employers and mangers on
issues related to Fair Labor Standards Act and state laws governing employment.
