WIND ENSEMBLE FEATURES STUDENT SOLOIST
HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Louisiana University, under the director of Frank G.
Dubuy, will present a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Pottle Music Building Auditorium.
The concert will feature as soloist senior music performance major Jason Rusk of
Chalmette in Claude Debussy's "Premiere Rhapsodie."
"This typically French solo," said Dubuy, director of bands in Southeastern's music
department, "requires the soloist to display the full range of dynamic and technical capabilities of
the clarinet."
The program also will include "Fingal's Cave Overture" by Felix Mendelssohn; "Prelude"
and "Siciliana and Rondo" by Malcolm Arnold; "Concertante for Wind Instruments" by Norman
Dello Joio," and "Candide Overture" by Leonard Bernstein.
For additional information, call the SLU music department, 549-2184.
