APPLY NOW FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS AT SLU APPLICATIONS NOW BEING
ACCEPTED
HAMMOND - High School seniors are invited to apply now for scholarships at
Southeastern Louisiana University for the academic year 2000-2001.
Qualified students will be invited to attend the university's annual Scholarship Day in
February to compete for scholarships. In order to qualify, students must be high school seniors,
have an ACT composite score of 24 or above, a grade point average or 3.0 or higher and have
demonstrated leadership abilities.
The scholarship application deadline is December 15.
Daphne Armstead, Southeastern's coordinator of scholarship services, encouraged
students to apply early. "We have many scholarships available and the earlier students apply, the
better their chances. Even if students have not made a final decision on what school to attend,
they need to apply for scholarships now," said Armstead. "If they wait until the spring semester,
it will be too late to qualify for these scholarships."
Southeastern, located in Hammond, La., is a four-year degree-granting institution in the
