DISTRICT EIGHT SCIENCE FAIR RESULTS
HAMMOND -- Jacek Blonski of Mandeville High School was the first place winner of
the 2001 Region 8 Science Fair held at Southeastern Louisiana University March 22.
Blonski received a $500 cash prize and, along with first, second and third place regional winners,
will advance to the state science fair at Louisiana State University.
Second place honors went to Blonski's Mandeville High School classmate Ryan Grab
and Angelina Labruzzo of Independence High too third place.
Rosemary O. Joseph, a veteran science teacher at Independence High School, was named
the Outstanding Secondary Science Teacher. Sara C. Tenini of Holy Ghost School in Hammond
and Tabetha Ezell of Annunciation Catholic School in Bogalusa were recognized for their work
and contribution to the Science Fair.
The Navy/Marine Corps Distinguished Achievement Awards went to Joshua Foster,
Fontainebleau High School, first; Malcolm Hutson, Mandeville High School, second; Colorado
Robertson, Amite High School, third, and Kathryn Picard, Mandeville High School, fourth.
