SENIOR DAY INTRODUCES HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS TO SLU OCT. 27
     HAMMOND   High School seniors are invited to Southeastern Louisiana University's
"Senior Day 2001," Saturday, October 27. The informal and entertaining introduction to the
university is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Student Union. 
     Throughout the day, students will have the opportunity to take a campus tour, meet
Southeastern students, faculty, and staff, and learn about Southeastern's academic programs,
admissions, financial aid, and much more.  
     Computer labs will be open for students who wish to apply for admission and academic
displays will be located throughout the union.
     "Southeastern will also provide a free barbeque and tours of our new, state-of-the-art
Student Activity Center," said Steve Soutullo, director of Academic Services.
     Southeastern representatives will also travel to the south shore from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.,
Tuesday, October 30, for "Southeastern Showcase" at the Jefferson Center. 
     Sam Domiano, director of Admissions and Financial Aid, said the program will highlight
the university's Superior High School Juniors Program and Special Program for Adults, as well
as offer general information on Southeastern similar to those offered at Senior Day. 
     The Superior Juniors Program gives qualified high school students the opportunity to get
a head start on their college careers with tuition wavers and the Special Program for Adults helps
older learners make the transition back into the classroom, whether they are pursuing a degree or
take courses for professional or personal development.
