SLU'S REGIONAL CAREER CENTER GRAND OPENING FRIDAY
     HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Regional Career Center will celebrate their grand opening,
Friday July 11, 7:30 am - 9 am in 108 North Complex (Old Westside Elementary school) next to the
University Center. The event is co-sponsored by BellSouth Mobility. Refreshments will be served and
the public is invited.  
     The career center is a collaborative effort of the Division of Technical/Career Education,the
Junior Division and Career Development Services at Southeastern Louisiana University.   The career
center provides guidance and information for students, alumni, and community residents.  The center
offers computer-assisted evaluation and research, career counseling and testing, assistance in preparing
resumes and for interviews, job training opportunities and career placement referrals. 
     Director Julia Porter says the center has 30 computers with internet access.  Word processing
software to prepare resumes and career guidance software is also available.
