SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA WRITING PROJECT PLANS SUMMER INSTITUTE
HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Louisiana Writing Project is accepting applications for
its seventh annual Invitational Summer Institute, June 8-July 9. The Institute will meet at
Southeastern Louisiana University on Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is
designed for outstanding kindergarten-college level writing teachers.
Fifteen selected teachers from across the curriculum will study the teaching of writing
and share their own best teaching practices with each other. Participants become Summer
Fellows at Southeastern and receive a stipend, books, and materials as well graduate credit.
Applicants should submit a resume; a brief description of a writing activity used in their
classroom; a letter of nomination from a supervisor or from a member of SLWP; a page
containing name, address, phone, email, Social Security Number as well as school and grade
level where the applicant currently teaches. Applications will be considered until the Institute is
filled, and on-campus interviews will take place in March.
