| SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA WRITING PROJECT ANNOUNCES YOUNG
WRITER'S CAMP HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Louisiana University Writing Project will host a Young Writer's Camp this summer for students entering fifth through ninth grades. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Hammond Cultural Foundation Building in downtown Hammond July 15-19. Camp activities will include creative writing sessions, reading workshops, collaboration and revision strategies, and writing response groups. Workshops on story-telling, poetry, personal writing, and journal writing will also be conducted. "Instructors will be certified classroom teachers who love writing and have a desire to help young authors develop their craft," said Writing Project Director Richard Louth. The fee for the camp is $65, payable by check or money order. July 1 is the application deadline. Enrollment is limited to 25 students.
