GOVERNOR FOSTER REAPPOINTS CLAUSEN TO SREB
     HAMMOND -- Governor Mike Foster has reappointed Southeastern Louisiana
University President Sally Clausen to the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB). She will
serve as a board member until the June 30, 2002 and retain her current leadership position.
     President Clausen has just completed her third term as vice chairman of the board and is
an active member of the executive and finance committees of SREB. 
      Board members like Dr. Clausen don t come along everyday, and we appreciate all she
has done and continues to do for SREB,  Mark Musick, president of SREB, said.  The good
thing is that we know we can continue to count on her good advice and counsel. 
     The SREB has a wide membership consisting of the governor and four other
representatives from each participating state which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida,
Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South
Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. The board s
mission is to advance the cause of education.
     Clausen has been president of Southeastern since July, 1995.
