SLU STUDENT FOUNDATION OFFERS FOUR $1,000 SCHOLARSHIPS
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's Student Foundation is providing
four $1,000 scholarships to Southeastern students for the fall 1999 semester.
     Applicants must be full-time Southeastern students who have a 2.5 minimum grade point
average and  have demonstrated leadership abilities that have had "a direct and positive impact"
on Southeastern students, said Student Foundation President Julia Wilson of Jefferson.
     Students may pick up application packets from Liz Foster at the Southeastern
Development Foundation, located in the Alumni Center, 500 West University Ave, 549-3770.
Two letters of recommendation must accompany the completed application form.
     April 23 is the application deadline.
     The Student Foundation assists the Development Foundation in fund-raising activities
and stages its own fund-raisers for scholarships, such as the annual "Big Switch" when the
university president and a student trade places for a day.
