VITTER, CLAUSEN, PERRY TO OPEN ECONOMIC SUMMIT JAN. 26
     HAMMOND -- Business retention and expansion, effects of land use and zoning on
economic development, tourism and marketing, and obtaining funding for economic
development are just a few of the topics that will be covered at the Southeast Louisiana Regional
Economic Summit, Jan. 26-28. 
     The Economic Summit, which will be held on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana
University, will feature nationally know authorities on economic development and will focus on
the future of economic development in the Florida Parishes. 
     U.S. Rep. David Vitter, Southeastern President Sally Clausen and Stephen Perry, chief of
staff in Gov. Mike Foster's office, will open the summit at a dinner at 7 p.m., Jan. 26. Kevin
Reilly, secretary of the Louisiana Department of Economic Development, will be the luncheon
speaker on Thursday, Jan. 26, while Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Blanco plans to present
special remarks at the continental breakfast from 7-8 a.m., Jan. 28.
