SLU TO HOST VONNIE BORDEN SPEECH AND THEATRE FESTIVAL
     HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Louisiana University Communication and Theatre
Department will host the annual Vonnie Borden Speech and Theatre Festival on March 21.
     Students from area 14 high schools will participate in individual and one-act play
competitions Friday afternoon and evening. Approximately 200 students and 20 teachers and
coaches from Hammond, Ponchatoula, Covington, Mandeville, Slidell and surrounding areas 
will attend the festival.
     The Speech and Theatre festival is directed by communication and theatre professors Kay
Files of Covington and Terri Miller-Drufner of Hammond. Approximately 50 Southeastern
students and faculty volunteers will serve as festival hosts and judges.
     Festival registration begins at 11 a.m. in the lobby of D Vickers Hall.
