WATTS NAMED HEAD OF  SLU S KINISIOLOGY/HEALTH STUDIES 
     HAMMOND -- Paris Watts has joined the Southeastern Louisiana University faculty as
head of the  Kinisiology and Health Studies Department.
     Watts previously coordinated the health education programs at the University of Missouri
and was chair of the Department of Health Education and Promotion at Western Illinois
University.                              
     He is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University where he earned a bachelor s
degree in health and safety education and physical education.  He earned a master s degree in
health and safety education and his health science doctorate from Indiana University.
     Watts who has been department head since January, said,  I am delighted to be in a
department with faculty and staff who are highly energetic, extremely productive, who are
outstanding teachers, and who seem to possess creative problem solving abilities.
