SOUTHEASTERN WEB SITE HAS NEW LOOK!
HAMMOND -- As of Sunday, Oct. 31, Southeastern Louisiana University's web site
(www.selu.edu) has a new look.
The new design's goals are to make navigation easier, especially for prospective students,
as Southeastern implements new quality admission standards; to accommodate new functions
associated with Project Leo; to present a more modern look; and to simpilfy design standards for
faster Internet performance, said Bea Baldwin, assistant vice president for planning research and
policy analysis, who headed the redesign project.
"The reaction to the new look from pagemasters, recruiters in Enrollment Services,
students has been overwhelmingly positive," Baldwin said.
Baldwin headed the redesign project as part of her role as coordinator of "Project LEO,"
Southeastern's major database conversion program. The new Southeastern web pages include a
LEO icon that will take users into the into business transaction side of university Southeastern's
"Intranet."
As Project LEO is fully implemented over the next year to 18 months, students will be
able to register and pay tuition and fees online, get electronic degree audits, access updates on
financial aid and change personal information such as addresses and phone numbers. Faculty will
be able to post grades and track the academic progress of the students they advise. Staff and
administrators will be able to manage their budgets, time sheets and make purchases on line.
"The new site is clean, fresh and fast and is taking Southeastern's web presence into the
new millennium," Baldwin said.
