WINDFIRE FLUTE & PERCUSSION SPECTACULAR NOV 4 AT SLU
HAMMOND -- The Windfire Flute and Percussion Spectacular is coming to
Southeastern Louisiana University. The husband and wife team of John and Paula Kasica will
perform Tuesday November 4 at 7:30 pm in the Pottle Music Building Auditorium. The
concert is free and open to the public.
John Kasica has been a member of the percussion section of the Grammy-award winning
Saint Louis Symphony for 20 years. A graduate of the Julliard School of music, he has made
numerous appearances as a solo percussionist and he has the unique distinction of having had
more solo performances with major symphony orchestras than any other percussionist in U.S.
history.
Flutist, Paula Kasica, has not only performed with outstanding musical ensembles such as
the Saint Louis Symphony, Opera Theater of St. Louis, the Grand Teton Music Festival and Fox
Theater Orchestra, she also won the Most Talented award in the Mrs. Missouri-America Pageant
in 1990 and 1991.
The Kasica's program will include selections from Antonio Vivaldi, traditional Kabuki
theatre music, and an original piece from John Kasica.
