Members of the Southeastern family will play prominent roles in
CASA's "Give Kids Hope" celebration scheduled for Saturday, April 26.
The free party, which honors Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)
volunteers while educating the community about child abuse, will be
held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cate Square Park in Hammond. The event
is open to the public and all faculty & staff are invited to bring
their families.

Southeastern's KSLU 90.9 FM public radio station will present their
"Guitar Hero Challenge," a music video game contest in which
participants simulate playing rock music. Contestants pay $1 to
"challenge" a KSLU guitar hero with winners advancing into a face-off
to determine the ultimate winner. All funds collected are
contributed to CASA. Southeastern's Athletics Department will
provide as door prizes a number of ticket vouchers for the baseball
game that day at 3 p.m. at Alumni Field when the Lions take on
Central Arkansas.

Other events scheduled at Give Kids Hope are storytelling for
children by the Southeastern library staff in the "Children's
Storybook Tent". Fans will have the opportunity to take pictures
with Lion mascot Roomie and the Southeastern cheerleaders. Numerous
other community organizations will offer information and activities
on issues such as children's fingerprinting, auto seat safety, fire
safety, children's health insurance and more.
