Delta Sigma Theta Nu Delta Chapter Loading... At the beginning of Delta Sigma Theta in 1913 at Howard University, our 22 phenomenal founders envisioned an organization of college women pledged to serious endeavor and community service. These youthful students demonstrated a vital concern for human welfare, and academic excellence, thus de-emphasizing the social side of sorority life. Their ideals of scholarship and service have withstood the test of time, and today over 250,000 college-educated women have pledged their hearts to Delta Sigma Theta and its tradition of dedicated service, loyal sisterhood, and academic development. In the Nu Delta Chapter at Southeastern Louisiana University, one of over 950 chapters that Delta has, we are preserving the proud tradition of excellence and service. We pledge to follow in the footsteps of our founders who set out to make a difference. We, in our daily lives, are making a positive difference in the lives of others in our community. As evident in our execution of programs within Delta's Five-Point Thrust, it is unmistakable that the legacy of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. continues here on our campus.
