Welcome to the Spring of 2010!

To the Parents and Students of the Southeastern Community Music School:
As usual, our fall semester is racing by, and I am pleased to see so much activity and achievement in our Southeastern Community Music School program! Particularly during this period of economic challenge, I am gratified that many so families retain such a strong commitment towards an investment in music education. Consequently, our CMS students continue to be shining examples of talent, initiative and creativity in their respective schools and communities. Indeed, they “perform” a large role in helping to make our entire region a more dynamic and rich area in which to live.
I am pleased to bring two new CMS initiatives to your attention. For those attending our Livingston Literacy Center location, we will be offering a brand new group guitar class for beginning adults taught by Mr. Andy Squint! There will be ten classes scheduled during the spring semester, meeting each Tuesday evening at 7:00pm. The first class will be February 2. The total cost for this class is only $125, which includes all books and materials.
Secondly, I am happy to welcome back to our CMS faculty Mr. Jan Youngblood! Mr. Youngblood will be again offering private lessons in gospel piano. For any interested students, simply write or type Mr. Youngblood’s name in the “preferred instructor” slot, along with “gospel piano,” on your registration form.
You will find the links for the spring 2010 registration materials under the “Quicklinks” menu. We are again offering the early-registration discount of $20.00 for all spring 2010 registration forms received by Friday, December 18, 2009. You may choose to register on-line, or download a printable registration form and send it in to our office. Payments may be mailed or delivered in person to the CMS office. If you wish to pay via credit card, we can process your credit card information through our university controller’s office. Please be sure to send in a $20.00 deposit towards your tuition along with the registration form (or separately, if you register on-line) to lock in a space for next semester. Once we receive your materials, we will send you an invoice with your account status.
Do not hesitate to contact our CMS secretary, Ms. Jill Worth (985-549-5502) or me (985-549-2197) should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kenneth Boulton
