Southeastern Channel to Stream Lions-Demons Game Live

The Southeastern Channel, Southeastern's Emmy Award-winning cable television channel, will stream the Lions home football game with Northwestern State Saturday live on the internet.

Those interested in watching the live stream can access the game beginning with its 6 pm. kickoff from the Southeastern Channel's website at http://www.selu.edu/tv/lionslive/.

The Southeastern Channel website, which recently streamed the 2011 Miss Southeastern pageant live, has been viewed in 47 different states and in 46 different countries. The site currently streams the channel's "Classic Lions" broadcasts of past football games and other athletic events through Video on Demand. A live 24-7 webcast, which mirrors the cable broadcast, is also offered on the website.

"The Southeastern Channel is pleased to bring Lion football live to those who can't attend the game," said channel general manager Rick Settoon. "This is a first, but we plan on streaming more football games and athletic events in the future."

The Southeastern Channel, which reaches a potential cable viewing audience of 250,000, will produce a cable broadcast of Saturday's Lions-Demons matchup which will air on a tape-delayed basis on Charter Cable Channel 18 in Tangipahoa, Livingston and St. Tammany parishes, and on Channel 17 in Washington Parish.

It will be the third Lion football game broadcast produced this season by the channel which also produced the Tennessee-Martin and Lamar games earlier this fall.
